South West Golf Day raises £1,600

The South West Golf Day, organised by our South West Region, has raised £1,634 for our charity.

Around 40 players competed in the annual event in blustery conditions at Lyme Regis Golf Club on Tuesday 28 April.

A total of 10 teams took part, representing Halstock, Castelan, Ergochair, NEJ Stevenson, Devon Workshop, Axminster Tools, Aspire Furniture, Shesto, SMS Veneering, Mundy Veneer and The Furniture Makers’ Company.

The winning team was Halstock (2), comprising James White, John Wynn, Chris Chapman and George Pack. James also achieved the highest individual score of the day. In recognition of his performance, he was presented with a turned wooden platter and awarded a complimentary place at the National Golf Day, which will be held at Northampton County Golf Club on 15 July.

Past Master David Dewing OBE, chairman of the region, said: “We extend our sincere thanks to all players and supporters who contributed to the success of the day, and to Lyme Regis Golf Club for their generous hospitality.”
