Northern Big Shots, the annual clay pigeon shoot organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company’s North West Committee, has raised £4,500 to support our charity’s work.

Eight teams from companies including KI, Panaz, Shackletons and Dreams took part in the fundraiser at Catton Hall Shooting Ground in Cheshire on Thursday 1 October.

The event brought colleagues from across the industry together for a day of friendly competition, with individual and team prizes recognising both experienced and novice shooters.

John Hyland claimed the Top Gun title with a score of 65 out of 80, while Gary Newton won Novice Top Gun with 51 out of 80. Big Bangers, representing KI, secured the Top Team award with 197 out of 320, and Panaz took the Top Novice Team title with 165 out of 320.

The Furniture Makers’ Company thanks everyone who supported the fundraiser, with particular thanks to Sealy for sponsoring part of the event.

Jessica Alexander, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Northern Big Shots continues to be a highlight in our events calendar, bringing the industry together in a spirit of camaraderie and generosity. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, sponsored, or supported the day, helping us raise vital funds for our charity. These contributions enable us to continue our important work supporting people in our industry and nurturing future talent.”

Funds raised will help the charity support people working in, or retired from, the furnishing industry who are facing financial hardship, as well as provide education and training opportunities for the next generation.
