Election of Sheriffs and Lunch

The Election of Sheriffs will take place at Guildhall on Wednesday 24 June at 11.45.

This is a very special event in the civic calendar when liverymen of all livery companies meet to elect the two sheriffs for the year.  The office of the sheriff is the oldest civic office in the City (older even than the office of the Lord Mayor itself) and the election is a spectacular and historical occasion. Only liverymen admitted before 31 May 2025 are entitled to attend the ceremony and cast a vote.

The Election will be followed by lunch at Furniture Makers’ Hall to which all members are invited to attend.  Election lunches are convivial occasions and an excellent way for new members to get to know their fellow liverymen and freemen.
