Yorkshire Curry Night dhals out insight and tasty cuisine
Award-winning curry and some spicy food for thought was served up to satisfied guests at the fifth annual Curry Night organised by the Yorkshire Region of The Furniture Makers’ Company.
Around 100 people, including industry colleagues, friends and family, attended the regional fundraising event, which took place on Wednesday 2 March at the Aagrah Midpoint in Bradford.
Following a delicious three-course dinner, David Woodward, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, spoke to the diners before special guest Tracy Brabin, mayor of West Yorkshire, gave a short speech to the receptive audience about supporting manufacturing, jobs for young people and a green agenda.
The evening concluded with a charity raffle with the event raising a fantastic £3,200 for the charity.
Fara Butt, sales and marketing director at The Shire Bed Company and chairman of the Yorkshire Region, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our fifth annual Yorkshire Region Curry Night. Mayor Brabin of West Yorkshire’s keynote vision for manufacturing was inspiring. The event is one of the first since the removal of all restrictions and was well attended and enjoyed by all at the legendary Aagrah Midpoint. Through the generosity of attendees £3,200 was raised.”
Master David Woodward said: “After two years of being unable to hold the event because of the pandemic, it was marvellous to be back in Yorkshire enjoying another excellent Curry Night with industry colleagues from the north of England. Congratulations to the Yorkshire Regional Committee for once again organising a superb event. Thank you also to Mayor Tracy Brabin for joining us for evening and making the event extra special.”
