We are pleased to welcome five liverymen and two new corporate liverymen to The Furniture Makers’ Company.

The new liverymen and corporate liverymen were admitted at the December court meeting at Furniture Makers’ Hall on 6 December 2022.

The members were personally welcomed by Tony Attard OBE DL, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, and then invited to join the court of assistants and guests for a lunch at the hall.

The liverymen and corporate liverymen are:

Rollie Attard, chief executive officer, Panaz (liveryman)

Panaz are global designers and manufacturers of high quality, flame retardant, technical fabrics and wallcoverings, specialising in the hospitality, healthcare, cruise and corporate sectors. Rollie has held several positions within Panaz and other organisations before becoming CEO in December 2021. 

Donna Bellingham (liveryman)

Donna is the former chief executive of Parker Knoll, a British manufacturer of high quality sofas and chairs. Donna was previously brand director for both Parker Knoll and for Content By Conran as well as having set up a retail consultancy agency and a career at Marks & Spencer.

Digby Summerhill, managing director, Minotti London (liveryman)

Minotti London is Digby’s family’s company and imports products and distributes and promotes them to clients in the UK, as well as working with specifications with architects and designers on worldwide projects. During his time as managing director, Digby restructured the company. He is very interested in entrepreneurship and is passionate about sustainability and the environment.

Sir Anthony Ullmann, chairman & CEO, Shackletons Group Ltd (liveryman)

Shackletons is a manufacturer of upholstered furniture and cabinetry. Having briefly retired in 2017 after more than 40 years as a supplier to the global automotive industry, Sir Anthony realised he missed the buzz of commercial life and decided to look for an investment opportunity where he could make a difference. After researching various sectors, he was attracted by healthcare and senior living so he acquired Shackletons in 2018.

William White, managing director, Rotadex Systems Ltd (liveryman)

Rotadex Systems Ltd is a family run business which manufactures storage furniture for the museum and archive sector as well as shelving and racking.

Richard Naylor, group sustainable development director, Hypnos (corporate liveryman)

Having graduated with a BSc in Business and Economics, Richard has spent 26 years in the furniture industry with the last 18 years being spent within the bed industry. Richard specialises in sustainable design and product development and is halfway through an MSc in Sustainability at Cranfield University.

David Baldry, group managing director at Hypnos (corporate liveryman)

David Baldry, Hypnos’ group managing director, has a wealth of international experience having worked with leading brands in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and interior design product sector for over a decade. Responsible for both, retail and hospitality markets, he’s passionate about developing Hypnos’ aspirational brand, responsible product innovation and connected customer experiences, in addition to leading its pioneering sustainability journey.
