Waste management specialist HIPPO joins as corporate member
The Furniture Makers’ Company, a City of London livery company and the furnishing industry’s charity, is delighted to welcome waste management specialist HIPPO as its newest corporate member.
HIPPO was founded in 2002 with the goal to provide a flexible rubbish removal alternative to traditional metal skips, using HIPPOBAGs. HIPPOBAGs are stocked in thousands of DIY retail stores across the UK and also online.
Alongside domestic users, HIPPO provides waste solutions to both small and large businesses nationally, and have developed a range of solutions that have revolutionised the way waste is collected post the installation of fitted furniture at residential properties.
Corporate membership provides opportunities for companies involved in the furnishing sector to directly participate in the industry’s only charitable organisation.
As corporate members, each company has the opportunity to nominate up to three senior executives to become corporate liverymen.
Gareth Lloyd Jones, managing director; Richard Scarrott finance and commercial director; and Joanne Helson, customer services director at HIPPO, were admitted as corporate liverymen at a ceremony at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London on Thursday 21 July.
Gareth Lloyd Jones, managing director of HIPPO, said: “We are hugely proud to have been welcomed as corporate livery members and given the opportunity to support the good works of the charity. HIPPO is a unique business, with innovation and customer service in it’s DNA, we are very excited to be working alongside other businesses who share our values.”
Hayden Davies, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Hippo as corporate members and specifically Gareth, Richard and Joanne as corporate liverymen. Our corporate members are of the greatest importance to us – and to the future of furnishing. We are delighted that so many different companies from the wider furnishing industry understand the importance of joining as members and supporting our charitable endeavours. All members, individual or corporate, are invited to participate in the many events in the city livery calendar, which are great for networking, entertaining, as well as having fun.”
