Virtual Interiors Event appoints Furniture Makers as charity partner
The Virtual Interiors Event, a new virtual event created for the commercial industry launching in February 2021, has chosen industry charity The Furniture Makers’ Company as its official charity partner for the exhibition.
This new event is the brainchild of Sally Rice and Beth Harrison who between them have an impressive combined 35 years’ experience in the commercial interiors sector across both the manufacturer and specifier side.
As part of the partnership, the exhibition team will work with The Furniture Makers’ Company to promote its charitable activity – particularly the Personal Support Grants it is providing people who have been impacted by COVID-19 – while also supporting its fundraising activity.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Throughout 2020 our charity has been very busy supporting industry colleagues who have had their lives and livelihoods affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. That work continues but we find that our biggest hurdle to helping more people is awareness of the charity. The Virtual Interiors Event is an exciting new exhibition, supporting the commercial sector to do business at a challenging time, and we are delighted that they have chosen us as their charity partner to help us raise the profile of the organisation with its exhibitors and attendees.”
Sally Rice, co-founder of the Virtual Interiors Event, said: “We were conscious we wanted to select a charity partner that was close to the heart and to the people of our industry. The support that The Furniture Makers’ Company has offered, even prior to the pandemic, to people in need from within the UK furnishing industry via their Personal Support Grants has been invaluable and also admirable and we are extremely happy to be supporting them.”
