The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation, the organisation representing installers, retailers and manufacturers of fitted kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms in the UK hosted it’s third annual BiKBBI Awards ceremony earlier this year, with close to 300 industry representatives attending the event in Westminster, London.

12 awards were announced on the night including Apprentice of the Year 2024, which was won by Sienna Tomkins of SystemXL.

Sienna started her Fitted Furniture Installer Level 2 apprenticeship aged just 17 within SystemXL’s Redwood Kitchens business which completes whole room kitchen replacement projects. “From the initial strip out, right the way through to client handover, Sienna quickly became a useful team member’ recalls the Director. “From wiring lights and assembling flat packs to making good, cutting panels, hanging doors and more, Sienna helps keep each project moving forward to successful completion.”

With her apprenticeship nearing completion, Sienna has committed to continuing her career with SystemXL. “I’m really pleased with the training and support that I have received so far and delighted to stay with the business and further develop my installer career,” she affirmed.

As well as all the on-the-job training and help received from her employer, Sienna’s journey was also supported by Multi Trades Training who offer a wide selection of construction training for all levels including apprenticeships in bench joinery, cabinet-making and kitchen installation.

Congratulations to Sienna and everyone who has supported her through her apprenticeship and early career in reaching this achievement.
