Over the past nearly 50 years Axminster Tools has built a family business on a foundation of strong customer service values. Axminster Tools is an evolving and passionate supplier in the woodworking tools and machinery industry, via various channels. It offers a friendly and personal service to many makers and creators, ranging from trade professionals and businesses to hobby enthusiasts.

The company is a specialist that shares its customers’ passion for great craftsmanship. It does this by offering them the products they need, the knowledge they trust and the service they deserve.

Axminster Tools is committed to helping to build a sustainable future for the industry and the environment. It is constantly seeking ways to minimise its effect on the environment as well as opportunities to have a positive impact. The company works with education and charitable organisations to help bridge the education skills gap and inspire the future talent of the woodworking industry.

Axminster aims to use its position in the industry to help educate and support its customers, employees, suppliers and communities, so that they can work together to build a successful and sustainable future.

While the future of the furniture industry is important to the company, Axminster Tools is equally committed to supporting those who work or have worked in the industry. The pandemic caused huge disruption to so many who work in the trade, so when the company was approached by The Furniture Makers’ Company to sponsor the Step 2 It campaign, Axminster were grateful for the opportunity to give back.

Earlier this year, managing director Alan Styles took part in a 200 mile cycle from Axminster HQ in Devon to The Furniture Makers’ Hall in London. Alan cycled as part of a group including three past Masters of The Furniture Makers’ Company. Between them they raised over £12,000 for the campaign.

In July a group of Axminster Tools employees, their friends and families did their bit for the campaign by walking a 10 mile round trip along the beautiful East Devon coastline.

The team made the journey from Seaton in Devon and walked along the coast to Beer, Branscombe and back again. The day was organised by the Axminster Tools Wellbeing Committee whose purpose is to help support the physical and mental health, fitness and social wellbeing of staff, in conjunction with the company’s Wellbeing Programme.

The group raised £775 to be split equally between the Step 2 It campaign and a community charity located close to the company head office.
