Six new freemen admitted
We are delighted to welcome six new freemen to The Furniture Makers’ Company.
The admission ceremony took place at Furniture Makers’ Hall on Monday 25 September before the Company’s Common Hall event.
The new freeman are:
Daniel Griffin
Daniel is a director, designer and maker at Griffin and Sinclair Ltd. Griffin and Sinclair create a range of bespoke products and one of pieces on request.
Sarah Kay
Sarah Kay started furniture design in a workshop space in Hackney having studied at Parnham College Dorset. Sarah has received a number of Design Guild Marks, Bespoke Guild Marks and the Claxton Stevens Prize for her Oasby chair.
Christian Notley
Christian is head of furniture studies at Chichester College and Worldskills UK training manager in cabinet making.
Bryn Whitaker
Bryn is an owner and partner of Kenmore interiors and has been with the company since 1982.
Duncan White
Duncan started his career as geologist before attending Marc Fish’s furniture makers course and founding Avocet Furniture. Avocet furniture design and make bespoke furniture.
Antonia Woodley-Jones
Antonia is a Junior Interior Designer with Louise Jones Interiors. Her brother Edward is an active member of the YFM committee.
