Sign up to support Level 2 Furniture Apprenticeship Reviews or lose them
The Furniture and Interiors Education, Skills and Training Alliance (FIESTA) is pleased to confirm the review of the Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer Apprenticeship following much campaigning by the trade body with support from Achieve+Partners.
The review will see eight new level 2 apprenticeships proposed for development including furniture manufacturer, bed manufacturer, modern upholsterer, furniture finisher, fitted furniture installer, modern furniture service repairer, furniture restorer and wood machinist.
We need employers to support this development, if there are not enough employers willing to step forward these apprenticeships are at risk of being lost. Meaning employers lose the mechanisms to attract new recruits to the industry, the training and funding available to support this.
We also need employers to join the trailblazer groups, where you will attend virtual meetings to input on what is required for a competent person for the occupation. You do not have to commit to anything other than contributing to the group and:
- agree to your name, contact details and employer’s name being held on the Institute’s trailblazer portal
- secure your employer’s agreement to your membership and the company name being published on the apprenticeship standard’s webpage.
The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education have produced a short video (4 minutes) which explains the process in more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbNjRavTrwE&feature=youtu.be Please confirm your support by completing the following form online, it takes less than 2 minutes of your time to secure the future for apprenticeships: https://forms.gle/tgfqZ22H45W5epnw9
