Shackletons Group joins The Furniture Makers’ Company as a corporate member
Shackletons Group, a manufacturer of care home and hospitality furniture, is the latest company to join the growing list of corporate members of The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity to the furnishing industry.
Shackletons Group has been producing handcrafted traditional and contemporary contract furniture since 1959. The company, which is based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, supplies a wide range of furniture, from upholstered chairs and sofas to dining and occasional tables, together with a wide range of bespoke cabinetry.
Corporate membership provides opportunities for businesses from the trade to support the Company’s charitable activities, get involved with civic events and network with other members. Up to three representatives can be chosen to be admitted as corporate liverymen.
Sir Anthony Ullmann, CEO and chairman of Shackletons Group, and Mark Harrison, finance director, were formally admitted as corporate liverymen at a ceremony at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London on Tuesday 8 March 2022.
Sir Anthony Ullmann, CEO and chairman at Shackletons Group, said: “We are delighted to join The Furniture Makers’ Company. As a corporate member, we are excited to be able to inform, inspire and support those working in the furniture industry. Shackletons’ craftsmanship has a heritage of more than 60 years and we are passionate about taking this forward for future generations inspiring excellence in design and manufacture.”
David Woodward, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Shackletons Group as a corporate member, and were thrilled to admit Sir Anthony and Mark into the livery company. Our corporate members are of the greatest importance to us. We are delighted that so many different companies from the wider furnishing industry understand the importance of joining as members and supporting our charitable endeavours. All members, individual or corporate, are invited to participate in the many events in the city livery calendar, which are great for networking, entertaining, as well as having fun.”
