Sanderson hosts Sustainability Seminar for members
Corporate member Sanderson Design Group hosted our Sustainability Seminar last week (Tuesday 7 June) offering fellow corporate members and Manufacturing Guild Mark holders an exclusive insight into the inner workings of the business.
The day started with an overview of Sanderson Design Group’s seven consumer brands, including Sanderson, and its two manufacturing brands, Anstey Wallpaper Company and Standfast & Barracks.
Lisa Montague, CEO, and Ben Naylor, group operations director, gave delegates insight into the business’s sustainability strategy and how they are going to achieve net zero carbon by 2030. The event concluded with a factory tour and light networking lunch.
Lisa Montague, CEO at Sanderson Design Group, said: “It was a pleasure to share our experiences with a few corporate members of The Furniture Makers’ Company and to enjoy some useful discussion with like-minded industry professionals at various stages of their ESG journeys to be more responsible businesses. The Furniture Makers’ Company Sustainability Seminar was a rewarding day, hosted at our wallpaper printing factory Anstey Wallpaper Company, where we delved into how we will achieve our Net Zero by 2030 pledge, followed by a product presentation and tour of the factory. I think we finished with a few more people in love with wallpaper!”
Chris Black, managing director at Manufacturing Guild Mark holder Sound Leisure Ltd, said: “I would say that the event was a fantastic benchmark to gauge what we are achieving at Sound Leisure compared to others in a similar industry, a great day with a lot of useful information and networking”
Louise Walters, commercial director at corporate member Designer Contracts, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the event, it was extremely enlightening, thought provoking and I was able to take away a wealth of information and ideas around sustainability moving forward. It was also fabulous to have the tour around the Sanderson group factory and design areas.”
Ian Burn, director of marketing and sustainability at Camira Fabrics, said: “I really enjoyed the Furniture Makers’ Company Sustainability event at Sanderson Design Group. Sanderson are doing some really great work to progress their sustainability agenda, so it was very useful and helpful to learn about their approach. The site tour was fascinating and it was a really interesting network opportunity too. Thank you.”
The seminar is one of many exclusive events open to our corporate members as well as Manufacturing Guild Mark holders.
