Proskills needs your views on apprenticeships
In 2013 the Government announced big reforms to the way apprenticeships are to be designed and implemented in England. New standard-based apprenticeships will replace current frameworks as part of the Government’s employer driven Trailblazer Strategy.
A group of furniture employers working on behalf of the sector have been leading this redesign.
In this once in a generation opportunity Proskills is calling for the furniture sector and key stakeholders to get involved and to have their say on the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours that apprentices should display on completion of their apprenticeship.
It is essential that we get the content right for these standards as they will form the development programmes for apprentices in the future.
The employer group urges you to view the standards developed and carefully consider what you as an employer would expect to see from your apprentices.
Please consider these and feedback your views to Lisa Williamson at Proskills, who is coordinating responses.
It is also vital to let us know if you support these standards, please email Lisa to let her know.
The consultation will close on 20 July 2015.
