Staff from the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman took on the infamous Tough Mudder course at the end of summer in aid of our Step 2 It campaign.

The group – Juliette Fletcher, Sam Keshavarzi, Rosie Tackley and Tom Wicks – battled through a total of 13 gut wrenching obstacles along the gruelling 5K course set up in Finsbury Park, London on Saturday 28 August.

The team raised a fantastic £700 for the Step 2 It campaign, exceeding their fundraising target of £500. The money raised will be doubled thanks to the match funding in place.

Juliette, Rosie and Sam presented Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, with a cheque for the amount raised in September.

Rosie Tackley, Ombudsman at the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman, said: “Tough Mudder was such a great event to do with my colleagues. We’re a varied age group and were so supportive of each other throughout, both in cheering each other on, and giving a leg up as needed. It was a challenge I couldn’t have done without my team and it was great to do it on behalf of such a good cause.”

Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “ A massive thank you to the team at the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman for braving the unforgiving Tough Mudder course in support of the Step 2 It campaign.

“Visibility of the charity has increased during the pandemic, due to the extraordinary circumstances affecting so many different people. The funds you raised mean we will be able to help more families in need or an individual going through a crisis.”
