Members featured in new Furniture Makers video
We are delighted to unveil a new corporate video which tells our unique story through the voices of several of our prominent members.
The new film, which was produced by Maidenhead-based company Cube Video, gives an overview of the organisation, its role as both livery company and charity and the reasons for joining as a member.
The video was filmed on multiple locations around the country at the places of business of the members who were featured. In addition to starring several well-known members of the Company, the video includes scenes with different industry colleagues, highlighting the support the organisation provides, through its educational and welfare charitable activities, to anyone in furniture and furnishing trade.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “One of the aims of the new video was to emphasise that we are a national organisation for people from all sectors of the industry, not just furniture makers. Filming with members and other industry colleagues in their workshop, factory, store, studio, or showroom helped highlight how broad our industry is and the many sectors and businesses that are encompassed under the furniture and furnishing banner. I would like to thank the people and companies who gave up their time to support us with the production of the new video.”
We are a modern livery company whose membership comprises of individuals and businesses that make up the diverse, vibrant and creative UK furniture and furnishing industry, including beds, flooring, textiles and kitchens.
People and companies from the furniture and furnishing industry can join the livery as either an individual member (freeman) or as a corporate member/supporter.
Membership offers the opportunity to connect with a broad network of other industry colleagues, attend exclusive social and business focused events, and give back to the trade by supporting the organisation’s work in the areas of education, excellence and welfare.
Jonny added: “Unlike some other livery companies, all our members must be associated in some way to the furniture and furnishing industry, including beds, fabrics, kitchens, carpets and other floor coverings. This helps us maintain industry relevance and facilitate meaningful business connections among our membership.
“You could be a designer, manufacturer, distributor, craftsperson, retailer, supplier, lecturer, specifier, PR practitioner or journalist – all are welcome. We encourage and welcome diversity – sectoral and cultural – within our membership and would be happy to hear from you, even if you now retired.”
