Meet the makers exhibiting at INSPIRED 2017: Stephen Skolnik
This May (3-6) will see the much-anticipated return of INSPIRED – the luxury contemporary silverware and furniture selling showcase at the Goldsmiths Centre during London Craft Week.
This leading exhibition, now in its fifth year, brings together some of the UK’s finest and up-and-coming silversmiths and furniture makers in one unique curated platform.
As we get ready for the show, in the coming weeks we will be giving you the lowdown on this year’s designer/makers attending and why INSPIRED should be your number one destination for bespoke furniture. This week we find out more about Stephen Skolnik.
Stephen trained in cabinet-making first at Rycotewood College, in Oxfordshire, and later at Rosewood College, in Canada, as well as studying under the renowned master-maker David Charlesworth in north Devon.
His work has gained him entry into international collections and some of his pieces have featured in Bespoke, the source book of 190 leading furniture-makers put together by Betty Norbury and the How to Spend It magazine of the Financial Times.
Stephen is a great supporter of young talent and sponsors an annual prize that is awarded to university students who show original thinking and commitment to their studies.
