#Ldn2Bdx Day Three
The third day of the ride begins with the riders making their way down the outskirts of the city of Rennes.
As they re-enter more rural territory the #Ldn2Bdx cyclists will begin to pass through numerous small towns and villages such as Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche, Saint-Erblon, Bourgbarré.
Their halfway point for the day is Chateaubriant, which dates back to the 11th century and was an important stronghold in Middle Ages. It is also noteworthy for its impressive château which combines a large medieval castle and a Renaissance palace.
After lunch, the cyclists will edge ever closer to the coast and the destination town of Nantes, passing the pretty lakeside marina in Norte-Sur-Erdre before beginning the final push for the day as they follow the course of the Erdre river just before it joins the Loire and spills into the Atlantic.
On the outskirts of Nantes, they will join a cycle path which enables them to avoid the busiest of the city-centre traffic, hopefully in time to enjoy the beautiful city, which was once voted by Time Magazine as “the most liveable city in Europe”.
A culturally-significant city, Nantes has many attractions beside its fine architecture, including a way-marked public arts trail and the world-famous Les Machines de l’Isle workshop with its display of gigantic mechanical animal puppets.
