HR professionals encouraged to attend recruitment, training and wellbeing event
The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is organising a second conference for HR professionals working at furniture and furnishing businesses, with the event focusing on recruitment, training and wellbeing.
The ‘Routes to a Stronger Workforce’ event is taking place on Thursday 6 July (10.30am – 2.30pm) at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London. This exclusive gathering promises to equip delegates with invaluable insights and resources essential for building and maintaining a thriving workforce.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the organisation’s new educational strategy aimed at bridging the industry’s skills gap. Two noteworthy resources will be introduced during the event: a cutting-edge careers website and a dedicated member of staff who will provide extensive support to companies in developing their apprenticeship programmes.
Distinguished guest speakers will share their expertise, including Dr Ariele Noble from Mental Health Innovations, a digital charity that harnesses the power of technology to create innovative solutions for mental health challenges. Additionally, Emma Welch, HR director at Ocee International, will provide insight on how to implement a wellbeing programme. Following the speaking sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to network over a sandwich lunch.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Join us for a comprehensive event designed specifically for HR professionals in the UK furniture and furnishing industry, focusing on recruitment, training, and wellbeing. In this event, we will dive into these critical areas, providing delegates with an understanding of the new initiatives and tools being developed to support businesses to recruit and upskill employees. We’ll also explore the importance of employee wellbeing, with a focus on mental health, and its impact on organisational performance and how companies can implement a wellbeing programme.”
Admission cost: Free to members, £20 to non-members.
