Handy Step 2 It in Furniture Makers’ Company fundraiser

Handy Limited, a leading component supplier to the furniture and bedding industries, is hosting a 24-hour table tennis tournament to raise £5,000 for The Furniture Makers’ Company.

The charity’s Step 2 It Campaign was set up to inspire the UK furnishing industry to organise and take part in a sports-based activity or challenge to generate vital funds to help those struggling financially.

The charity provides financial and practical support to people working throughout the furniture trade, and they have done for over 100 years.

As a company, Handy feel very strongly about this and want to give back to an industry that they have been a part of for over 30 years.

The 24-hour table tennis tournament is taking place on the 24 and 25 March 2022.

Nick Harland-Smith, MD of Handy, said, “We have been a member of The Furniture Makers’ Company for three years now. Our membership has given my team a renewed sense of community, becoming a part of something bigger and giving back to the industry in some way.”

Having supplied the industry for over 30 years, the fundraiser ties into Handy’s long-term growth strategy, which included doubling the size of their factory / distribution facility in 2014 and introducing a new website last year to offer 24/7 online ordering for existing customers.

In recent years Handy has also expanded its specialist services which include product development, button covering, tufting assembly and bespoke packaging.

By becoming more active within the Furniture Makers, Handy hope to raise awareness and spread the message of their charitable work and educational opportunities to other companies across the country.
