The government has begun a consultation with a view to withdrawing the Level 3 Furniture, Furnishings and Interiors Apprenticeship.

The government are working through a planned withdrawal of apprenticeship frameworks over the course of the parliament as employers move from old frameworks to the new Apprenticeship Standards.

The Skills Funding Agency has issued a notification that the Level 3 Furniture Apprenticeship Framework will be withdrawn on 1 April 2018.

The Furniture Trailblazer Group is currently working together to develop a replacement but it is doubtful that this will be in place in time for this planned withdrawal.

Industry can appeal this decision by completing an online form. The deadline for this consultation is 5 April 2017.
