Furniture Makers win the novelty pancake race
Third assistant David Woodward won the novelty category at the 14th annual Pancake Race organised by the Worshipful Company of Poulters earlier this month.
The Pancake Race is a livery company tradition that takes place every year on Shrove Tuesday in the courtyard of Guildhall, London.
Four races are held at each event for the Master, a liveryman of the Company, a lady connected with the Company and a novelty race.
The theme for this year’s novelty race was the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which is raising money for three organisations addressing social issues: On Side Youth Zones, Place 2 Be, and the Samaritans.
David was selected as the winner because his costume referenced all three charities.
We’d like to congratulate David and our other participants Master Dr Tony Smart MBE, Gary Smith and Lizzie Woodward.
