Leveraging the power of social media to counteract the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will be investigated at a virtual Best Practice Day from The Furniture Makers’ Company next month.

Host Peter Holland, founder of Linear Consulting, and Sara Pearce, founder of marketing consultancy Saffronpea will share some powerful insights and practical tips to help attendees leverage the power of social media for sales growth and create new valuable relationships.

The event, which will take place on Wednesday 25 November (10.00am-12.30pm) on Zoom, is being held at a time many companies are exploring how they can replicate the experiences exhibitions and events provide, which have been eliminated for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19.

The three key areas the event will cover are:

  • How to do the research to identify ideal prospective clients.
  • How to effectively make connections.
  • How to create new relationships and organise valuable meetings.

Peter Holland said: “A rapidly changing sales environment has highlighted the need for a ‘social media selling process’.  One with a clear strategy, objectives and activities your team can implement on a daily basis. We encourage corporate members and Manufacturing Guild Mark holders to register now for this interactive session enabling them to implement powerful social media expertise that gets results into your business.”

The Best Practice Days are free events that are open to all corporate members of The Furniture Makers’ Company as well as Manufacturing Guild Mark holders. Each event is designed to facilitate open innovation and shared learning among businesses.

The last event was held on Wednesday 9 September and explored virtual selling and digital sales optimisation in a post COVID-19 world.

Commenting on the last event, Karin Jennings, sales executive at corporate member Handy Ltd, said: “It was a very informative and adaptable event. I really liked the virtual breakout rooms where we were able to share and discuss ideas on how we are now working in these unprecedented times.”
