Frederick Parker chairs at the January Furniture Show
A special touring exhibition on the Frederick Parker Collection was launched at the January Furniture Show at the NEC, 20-23 January 2019, where it attracted plenty of interest from visitors.
Our aim was to raise awareness about the Collection across the furniture and furnishings industry, and to celebrate 150 years of Frederick Parker and Parker Knoll, 1869-2019. But perhaps it’s main purpose was to launch the exhibition which will tour to schools and colleges to inspire students to design new and innovative furniture for the future.
The Frederick Parker Collection of around 200 chairs dating from 1650 to the present and the archive of Frederick Parker and Parker Knoll form a unique educational resource for students of design, marketing, business and history, and is available to visit by appointment at Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University or online.
