Few tickets remaining for Climate Change Sprint Challenge event
There are still a limited number of places available for our innovative and interactive event to encourage knowledge sharing and discussion around key issues impacting on climate change.
Having been postponed twice by the disruption of the train strikes, the Climate Change Sprint Challenge will be held on Wednesday 15 November at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London. The Climate Change Sprint Challenge will provide all industry members with the opportunity to participate in round table discussions moderated by sustainability champions within different sectors of the furniture and furnishing industry.
Attendees will participate in four sessions with topics including: Avoiding harm to people and planet; Standards and certification; Measuring and reducing carbon emissions; Prioritising material selection; Circular economy – keeping products & materials in circulation. The day, including a complimentary lunch, will conclude with a summary of the issues raised and discussed.
Joanna Knight, chairman of the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “The Sprint Challenge is designed to provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing and learning. Whether you’re a novice or highly experienced in implementing sustainability policies, we hope that you’ll join us. The day will provide the opportunity to share experiences as well as some of the difficulties.”
The event, which is sponsored by FIRA, Ocee and Four Design, Panaz and SATRA Technology, will include representation from key industry associations including the Commercial Interiors UK, British Furniture Manufacturers Association (BFM), the National Bed Federation (NBF) and UK Carpet Recycling.
Registration to the event is free of charge but spaces are extremely limited. During registration, attendees are invited to choose four of the five table discussions during the day.
