DGM committee selects Simon Pengelly to design 100% Design feature
The Design Guild Mark committee has selected British designer Simon Pengelly to create a special feature at 100% Design that will exhibit this year’s award winning pieces.
The stand will showcase 15 of the 19 winning pieces for 2016.
Alexander Gifford, Chairman of the Design Guild Mark, said: “Many thanks to 100% Design for again inviting us to feature a selection of pieces awarded a Design Guild Mark in 2016. We are delighted that Design Guild Mark awardee Simon Pengelly has designed the feature stand at this year’s exhibition.”
The prestigious Design Guild Mark, awarded by The Furniture Makers’ Company, rewards excellence and raises the profile of British design and innovation. The award recognises the highest standards in the design of furniture for volume production, by the finest designers working in Britain, or British designers working abroad.
Simon Pengelly was the winner of the Jonathan Hindle Prize for Excellence and the John Makepeace award for his innovative UNNIA chair range (pictured). Created in 2015 by Design Guild Mark founder Jonathan Hindle, the prize is presented to the most outstanding design awarded a Design Guild Mark of its year.
Simon Pengelly commented: “The growing status of the Design Guild Mark in our industry means it is a significant accolade for the work that we and our clients create, and is another important tool for us to use in promoting the pieces to specifiers and end users.”
100% Design takes place from 21-24 September at Olympia, London. Register now:
