Judging for our Design Guild Mark Awards 2015 takes place on 21 April.

There are 57 entries going through to judging, showing just how much this prestigious mark of excellence means to designers, raising the profile of British furniture design and innovation. An independent panel of expert judges examine the pieces and hear a short presentation from the designers on what makes their work worthy of the award.

This is the only judging exercise within the design industry like this and the mix of judges from across the industry adds to the credibility of the award.

The Furniture Makers’ Company makes the Design Guild Mark awards for the highest standards in design for volume production, by the finest designers working in Britain or British designers working abroad, taking into consideration every aspect of the design and manufacture process.

In addition,  this year we are launching a new prize from Past Master and founder of the Design Guild Mark.  The Jonathan Hindle Prize is a cash prize of £1000, to be presented to the designer the judges and Jonathan Hindle decide have the very best design among all the entries.

This year’s awards will be made during Clerkenwell Design Week on 19 May, at a talk hosted by judge Jeremy Myerson, at the Farmiloe Building in Farringdon, 6.00pm.
