The Design Guild Mark will be making its debut appearance at the 2019 edition of the Surface Design Show (5-7 February) by hosting a special talk with one of the judges of the 2D category, renowned interior designer Daniel Hopwood.

Daniel will be speaking on the subject of ‘Interior design trends and their relevance to the surface industry’.

The time and place of Daniel’s talk is still to be confirmed. Watch this space as we will keep you updated.

Daniel is a past president of the British Institute of Interior Design. He was also a judge on the BBC’s amateur design programme The Great Interior Design Challenge, along with Kelly Hoppen and Sophie Robinson.

Daniel graduated with a degree in Architecture and then joined the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture.

He has run his company ‘Studio Hopwood’ for the past 25 years. The company specialises in high end residential work both in Europe and the Far East. His work is celebrated for being disruptive, questioning the norm.

Surface Design Show is held at London’s Business Design Centre. It provides a platform for architects, designers and specifiers to explore surface material design, development, innovation and manufacturing.

More than 150 companies, including 2018 holder company Panaz, will be exhibiting at the event.

The Design Guild Mark launched the 2D category in 2018. It recognises excellence in fabrics, textiles, surfaces, floor coverings and wall coverings in volume production.
