Four of our corporate members were among the eight winners crowned at the National Bed Federation’s 2024 Bed Industry Awards.

DFS, Handy Ltd, Harrison Spinks and Silentnight Beds were announced by as winners Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke on Tuesday 24 September at the Bed Show Gala Dinner in Telford.

Harrison Spinks was crowned Bed Manufacturer of the Year. Judges commended its financial performance, rebrands and retelling of the Harrison Spinks story, all with a forensic focus on sustainability earning the company its eighth Queen’s/King’s award. With exclusive sustainable ranges for John Lewis and Dreams, the company also introduced a new Bed Tailor Collection. Additionally, its revised export strategy has resulted in significant growth in North America.

Handy Ltd triumphed in the Supplier of the Year category. Judges commended its “commitment to ingenious product innovation, clear understanding of its customers’ needs and razor-sharp focus on customer satisfaction, in the knowledge that a slip-up will bring the whole process grinding to a halt.”

Nick Harland‑Smith, managing director at Handy Ltd, said: “We were delighted and humbled to accept the 2024/25 NBF Supplier of the Year award. Although Karin and I received the award, we felt as if our seventeen other colleagues were with us, as many of them had been texting the two of us throughout the gala dinner evening event wanting progress updates as the evening unfolded. Our people are priceless and I am so happy for them that they have all been recognised in this way.”

The coveted Bed Product of the Year was awarded to Silentnight Beds for its Airmesh™ Air Luxury mattress. The judges found this mattress to be “really comfortable” and ticked all the boxes. Based on extensive consumer research, the manufacturer knows what people want and has set out to deliver it at a realistic price point.

DFS clinched National Bed Retailer of the Year for the first time.

An independent panel of judges selected the winners from a shortlist of finalists comprising NBF members and supporting bed retailers.
