Upholstery manufacturer Whitemeadow has secured 80,000 sqft of additional manufacturing space to consolidate and expand their current operations.

The new site is in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area where the company already operate out of six manufacturing sites.

Manufacturing of some products has already begun at the new site, and the company will re-locate its entire bed frame production from February 2021 to the new site.

The deal to lease the four interconnected units at Langham Park was agreed earlier in the Autumn and the site is located close to its current head office in Sutton-in-Ashfield and its existing manufacturing sites, which are all within a two mile radius of each other.

It will vacate its bed-production facility on Fulwood Road in early 2021, which was Whitemeadow’s first manufacturing site, but has now outgrown the 13,000 sqft facility.

Managing director Ian Oscroft said: ‘It will be sad to vacate Fulwood Road, which was our first manufacturing site 25 years ago, but exciting times are ahead, and we are optimist about the future. As a leader in the industry, we believe this new facility will cement our current standing and enable us to grow in the future to fulfil, and indeed, exceed our customer’s expectations moving forward.”

Whitemeadow has been a corporate member of The Furniture Makers’ Company since 2016.
