The Dovecot Gallery is a landmark centre for contemporary art, craft and design built around a leading international tapestry studio. It occupies an extraordinary building in the heart of Edinburgh working to programme, commission and produce exhibitions and events for audiences and clients who share Dovecot’s passion for making and the creative arts.

Exhibitions are supported by Creative Scotland and the Dovecot Foundation. Until 12 December you can see the Dovecot Tapestry Studio Collection with examples of tapestries and rugs created with artists including Peter Blake, John Byrne, Willie Rodger and Tom Phillips, and from now until 23 December don’t miss Selected 2015 and + Dovecot Selects.

In its third year Selected 2015 brings together makers chosen by an industry panel, in a selling exhibition of craft and design. Jewellery, silversmithing, ceramics, glass, textiles and furniture are all represented by the most talented craftspeople with Scottish connections.

For the first time, + Dovecot Selects invites three established studios who represent our association with luxury craft making and collaboration. Timorous Beasties, Dashing Tweeds and Method Studio will present signature pieces from their collections.

There will be a free Q&A session with luxury trunk and case maker Method Studio on Saturday 12 December at 11am at Dovecot Studios. The recent pieces they have made, which are exhibited, have great stories behind them – especially the Vacheron Constantin watch case and the stunning whisky vault with Cumbria Crystal. Marisa and Calum will be available to answer questions about their process and materials.

You can see a video showing content from the exhibition here. Follow this link to register with Eventbrite.
