A mouth-watering curry was on the menu for The Furniture Makers’ Company’s Yorkshire region fundraising event.

The fourth annual curry night, which took place on 13 June, was held at the famous Aakash restaurant in West Yorkshire, raising in excess of £3000 for the industry’s charity.

100 people, including industry colleagues, friends and family attended the drinks reception followed by a three course meal at Britain’s biggest Indian restaurant.

This year’s theme ‘Making sense of uncertain times: Northern grit and commerce – a political and commercial perspective’ offered plenty of food for thought.

Guest speakers included Tracy Brabin the Labour Co-operative MP for Batley and Spen, Paula Sherriff MP for Dewsbury, Mirfield, Denby Dale and Kirkburton and key note speaker Kate Hardcastle MBE – The Customer Whisperer.

Fara Butt, marketing director at the Shire Bed Company, and chairman of the region said:  “On behalf of the Yorkshire region committee and The Furniture Makers’ Company, I want to thank everyone who attended and made this event a tremendous success.”
