B&Q Homefit golf day raises £40,000
We would like to thank everyone who attended Corporate Member B&Q Homefit’s charity golf day on Thursday 26 May for raising an incredible £40,000 for the charity.
Around 80 people attended the fundraiser, which was held at Selsdon Park in Croydon.
The individual winner of the tournament was Brian Deanes from Magicman, while the winning team was Richard Nicola, B&Q business development manager; Terry Bartholomew; Kieran Watson and David Collins, all B&Q installers.
Billy Quinn, organiser of the event, said: “As a Corporate Member, we feel an obligation to support The Furniture Makers’ Company by conducting an annual event. The Golf Day was well supported by the Master, previous Masters and many Liverymen, and as always our business sponsors were extremely supportive and generous. On behalf of my team, I would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the day a great success.”
Master Ben Burbidge, who was in attendance at the event said: “We can’t thank B&Q Homefit enough for organising another fantastic golf event. The £40,000 raised will go a long way to supporting people from the industry who have fallen on hard times, encouraging young people to pursue a career in our industry and championing excellence through our Guild Marks.”
