BFM asks industry to take part in Supportability project survey
The Association for British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) is asking UK furniture manufacturers to take part in a survey that could support people with disabilities to gain employment within the furnishing industry.
The project, which is entitled Supportability, aims to develop resources that will enable the furniture sector to implement relevant policies and ensure that people living with disability can secure long-term employment.
To enable this, the project needs to determine the current position for the furniture manufacturing sector, regarding the resources they have available to use when employing people living with disability.
Working with partners, the BFM has developed a survey to establish how different groups, including manufacturers and workers who live with disability, feel about this.
Jackie Bazeley, managing director of the BFM, said: “We would very much appreciate you taking the time to do this: your contribution will be invaluable for making the changes that need to be made to improve access to manufacturing employment for all people so SMEs can draw on talent from across the whole of their local community.”
