Bespoke maker Tim Garland Jones dies aged 51
Tim Garland-Jones
Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers
February 1964-September 2015
Sadly Tim passed away on 17 September, aged 51. He will be much missed by his wife Jo and son Noah, Ben and Amy, and all his family, friends and colleagues from over the years.
Tim joined the Company as a Freeman in 2005, and became a Liveryman in 2008. During his time with the Company Tim was involved with the work of the Bespoke Guild Mark committee.
Outside of his work with the Company, Tim successfully ran Garland Group Ltd as Managing Director. He volunteered as a Patron of St Raphael’s Hospice where he helped to raise funds, and was also involved with Article 25, the architectural aid charity, and locally with the Painshill Park Trust.
Tim’s funeral took place at Guildford Crematorium on Tuesday 6 October.
Tim’s family requested no flowers for the funeral and asked instead that if anyone would like to make a donation to two charities close to Tim’s heart, it is possible to do so via a Just Giving link they have set up: https://www.funeralzone.co.uk/obituaries/company/18?branded
The charities chosen are Cancer Research UK, and University of Surrey, for a melanoma research fund with which Tim was very involved.
