Bed, fabric, flooring and office furniture companies join as corporate members
We are delighted to welcome four new corporate members from the bed, fabric, flooring and office furniture sectors.
The latest companies to join the Furniture Makers as corporate members are fabric manufacturer Camira Fabrics, bed manufacturer Harrison Spinks, flooring distributor Headlam Group plc and office furniture manufacturer Ocee International.
Corporate membership provides opportunities for companies involved in the furnishing sector to directly participate in the industry’s only charitable organisation.
Membership contributions are critical to the Company’s ability to deliver much needed support for welfare, education and excellence. As corporate members, each company has the opportunity to nominate up to three senior executives to become corporate liverymen.
Dr Tony Smart MBE, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We are delighted to welcome Camira, Harrison Spinks, Headlam and Ocee International as corporate members. Each of them represent very different sectors of the wider furnishing industry. A clear indication that our work resonates across all sectors of the trade. Our corporate members are of the greatest importance to us – and to the future of furnishing. All members, individual or corporate, are invited to participate in the many events in the city livery calendar, which are great for networking, entertaining, as well as having fun.”
Grant Russell, CEO of Camira Fabrics, said: “We believe that it is important to invest in the industry and are very excited to be admitted to The Furniture Makers’ Company as corporate members. We look forward to getting involved with the amazing work it performs, including educating for the future and supporting past and present industry workers.”
Ruairi Giles, commercial director at Harrison Spinks, said: “On behalf of the whole company, Harrison Spinks is delighted to be admitted to The Furniture Makers’ Company as corporate members. We look forward to taking an active role in the livery going forward and supporting the great work that they do. The charity does an awful lot of good on behalf of the furniture industry, including funding apprenticeships, providing support with training new skills and of course the benevolent fund.”
Tony Judge, chief operating officer at Headlam, said: “Headlam is pleased to be a member of The Furniture Makers’ Company in recognition of the incredibly important work the Company performs and the support they offer to the wider furnishing industry. Headlam has been operating within floorcoverings distribution for 25 years and will endeavour to work closely with The Furniture Makers’ Company to ensure this sector’s continued promotion and that its employees, past and present, are well represented and looked after.”
Kate Mulcahey, group marketing director at Ocee International, said: “Ocee International believes that it is important to invest in the industry and we are delighted to support the charitable activities of The Furniture Makers’ Company.”
