A group of Axminster Tools employees, their friends and families took part in the Step 2 It campaign last month by making a 10-mile round trip along the beautiful East Devon coastline.

The team left Seaton in Devon at 10am on Saturday 17 July and walked along the coast to Beer, Branscombe and back again.

The day was organised by the Axminster Tools Wellbeing Committee whose purpose is to help support the physical and mental health, fitness and social wellbeing of staff, in conjunction with the company’s Wellbeing Programme. The committee proposed the event to encourage their colleagues to enjoy the health benefits, while spending time with friends and getting to know new people.

Axminster Tools employees raised an impressive £775 in sponsorship, which will be split between The Furniture Makers’ Company and a charity local to Axminster’s HQ.

Max Richardson, junior support analyst at Axminster Tools and member of the Wellbeing Committee, said: “It was a great opportunity to chat with colleagues whilst enjoying some amazing scenery along the way. We certainly are very lucky to live in this part of the country. There was a brilliant sense of team spirit and cheer which kept everyone going. It was a fantastic feeling when we returned to Seaton knowing each and every one of us had achieved the challenging 10 mile walk for two worthy charities.” Axminster Tools is also a silver sponsor of the Step 2 It campaign.
