Our Austin Friar yearbook for 2016 is out now.

The 90-page publication celebrates the vital work performed by the Company in the areas of Excellence, Education and Welfare during the 2015-2016 livery year.

Highlights in this year’s Austin Friar include:

  • Profiles of some of the Guild Mark award winners
  • Profiles of the winners of the Young Furniture Makers’ awards
  • How The Furniture Makers’ Company is working with educational establishments to support the development of young designers and furniture makers to ensure the industry’s ongoing success
  • Case studies of welfare support beneficiaries.

Austin Friar 2016 also includes an introduction from both David Dewing, Master of the Furniture Makers’ Company for 2015-2016, and Ben Burbidge, Master for 2016-2017.

Immediate Past Master David Dewing said: “After the warm reception the 2015 Austin Friar yearbook received, we are delighted to launch the 2016 edition, which is even better than the first.

“Austin Friar 2016 wonderfully showcases the vibrancy of the furnishing industry and the progressiveness of The Furniture Makers’ Company, as we continue to recognise and promote British excellence, narrow the gap between education and business, and support members of our industry during their time of need.”
