The flooring sector's livery company and charity
Although furniture is in our name, we are a membership organisation for the whole of the furnishing industry, with members from the bed, carpet, fabric, floorcovering, kitchen, lighting and textiles sectors, as well as furniture.
Joining a livery company brings with it a wealth of opportunity to be part of a unique and historic British institution and give back to a sector which has given you a career. What our members tend to have in common is a passion for the furnishing industry, a philanthropic desire to ‘give back’ and a wish to meet and converse with like-minded individuals.

GET INVOLVED LOCALLY
Our head office is located at Furniture Makers’ Hall in London, but we are a national charity that supports the entire UK furnishing industry. With members from businesses up and down the country, we’re not short of people supporting and organising events to fundraise for the charity, mentor and encourage local students and promote the work we do. Our eight regional committees enable furnishing industry colleagues to build links with local members and get involved with our many activities, both charitable and otherwise.
How our charity helps
Around 338,000 people work in the industry and our charity has been supporting the welfare of employees in the furnishing industry, past and present, who have fallen on hard times since 1903.
You can help us support more people from the flooring industry by putting us in touch with your HR team or representative so we can work with them to communicate our services to your employees and co-workers.
