Description

Showcasing a solid teak frame with a gentle nod to mid-century influence, Saranac’s distinctly contemporary lines please the eye from all angles allowing the collection to appear equally at home in spaces of varying size. Including a Lounge Chair, Ottoman, 2-Seater and 3-Seater Sofa, Saranac’s apparent simplicity belies a complex character packed with subtle style. Ideally suited to be paired with Sepal occasional tables, Saranac accords the consummate outdoor lounge experience.

London designer Mark Gabbertas spared nothing to ensure Saranac’s sustainably sourced, historically influenced frame incorporated the finest materials and delivered the most sophisticated finish. A woven outdoor rope back in rich Raven colour is strung taught above gently angled and tapered legs. Backs and arms are fully refined with a tactile rounded teak cap. Uniting the collection, the finishing touch of deep fill pillow like cushions are available in a variety of outdoor fabrics delivering a perfect mix of exemplary style and superlative relaxation.

About

Mark Gabbertas was born in Yorkshire in 1962 and came to the world of furniture design in a circuitous way having started his working life in advertising before changing career path to train as a cabinet maker. Apprenticed to Codrington Furniture and then with Stemmer and Sharp in the acclaimed Oblique Workshops in Hackney, it was Hackney he chose to found his own design/making studio in 1994. In 2001, he established the Gabbertas Studio in West London to focus on furniture design, before moving the main studio to the Oxfordshire countryside in 2016.
