OMSTAK Stacking Chair
Name of Designer:
Rodney Kinsman RDIDesigned in 1971 OMKSTAK is an all steel lightweight stacking chair, comprising a tubular frame and pressed steel seat and back. The monocoque seat panel provides the main structural element, eliminating the need for cross rails. Punched holes with turned down flanges reduce weight and add strength. The back panel incorporates a handle, allowing single-handed stacking of up to 25 seats without a rack.
Rodney Kinsman RDI founded OMK Design in 1965. OMK designed and manufactured much of the furniture sold through Terence Conran’s Habitat stores in the 60’s and 70’s. A key figure in the High-Tech design movement, Kinsman’s products are regarded as icons of 20th century British design.
