Genie

Designed in collaboration with Japanese design duo Mentsen, the Genie Chair effortlessly blends minimalism with contemporary comfort. The chair is 100% made in the UK using solid oak armrests, precision bent tubular steel and a denim ecru sling manufactured in Walthamstow by craft denim makers Blackhorse Lane Atelier.

Structurally the chair is a very minimal design, the rounded outline of the sling and frame take inspiration from Aalto’s Paimio chair and Breuer’s Isokon Long chair. The profile references to classic armchairs soften the impression of the hard materiality, the steel frame almost disappears and supports the seat like a fabric draped on an invisible lounge chair.
