Coopers’ Cask Race 2025

The fourth annual Coopers’ Cask Race, a thrilling and unique event in the heart of the City of London, is to take place on Saturday 21 June 2026. This spirited competition sees teams of four barrel-rolling their way across the historic Guildhall Yard, embracing the fun, tradition, and fellowship of Livery life.

We would like to enter a Furniture Makers team for the very first time.  So, if you would to uphold the honour of the Furniture Makers, and learn the technique of barrel-rolling, join the team for a morning filled with spirited fun, friendly competition, and abundant laughter.

This 2025 edition promises to be a thrilling spectacle, where teams of four will compete fiercely for the coveted title of racing champions.

The event sees teams from Livery Companies, City organisations, and the wider community competing for the title of champions.  Fancy dress or team dress is encouraged to add a splash of creativity to this lively morning of competition.

Practice sessions to perfect barrel-rolling technique commence at 08:30 and this will be a unique opportunity to master the art of cask rolling ahead of the main event.  The official race festivities commence at 09:30

A gentle reminder to all participants: please dress suitably for this physical activity. Comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear are essential. For your safety and comfort, gloves will be provided to each participant on the day of the race.

Spectators are welcome to join and cheer on the participants while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of this quintessentially City event.
