East Anglia Golf Day raises £8,500

The East Anglia Golf Day has raised an impressive £8,512 in aid of our charity.

The annual event, which was organised by Paul Glasswell and Peter Mallinson, took place at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club on 1 July 2026 and welcomed 100 players for an enjoyable day of golf and fundraising.

The total was raised through entry fees, sponsorship, a raffle and an auction, with businesses and individuals generously donating prizes and supporting the event.

Paul Glasswell, managing director of Glasswells, said: “We were delighted to welcome 100 players to another successful East Anglia Golf Day. The event received fantastic support from our sponsors and everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes, helping us raise an excellent amount for The Furniture Makers’ Company. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who participated or contributed to the day. We look forward to holding the event again in 2027.”

Jessica Alexander, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We are enormously grateful to Glasswells for organising another wonderful East Anglia Golf Day and to all the players, sponsors and supporters who helped make it such a success.

“The £8,512 raised will support our charitable work helping people from the furnishing industry when they are facing financial hardship, as well as our work educating and inspiring the next generation.”

The Furniture Makers’ Company provides essential welfare support to people who work or have previously worked in the UK furnishing industry. It also supports education and skills development, champions excellence and helps nurture emerging talent across the sector.
