About
James Ryan joined the Edward Barnsley workshop in 1992 as an apprentice furniture maker. He is now the designer-manager of the workshop. His innate understanding of materials and processes that forms a solid foundation to develop his sound and enduring designs. The Edward Barnsley Workshop, founded in 1923, is set in idyllic surroundings in rural Hampshire. The workshop has had many important commissions including the oak boards for the Domesday Book and pieces for the Palace of Westminster.
