Description
The story of the Tallboy, which was to stand in an entrance hall, started as a brief for something much lower, with storage and a seat for tying shoelaces. Over time, the client decided against the seat, in favour of greater storage, after which it grew taller and narrower by degrees.
About
Chrstopher Hughes graduated from The John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood at Parnham, Dorset in 1993. His ethos as a designer and maker is that form should follow function and to let the quality of design and construction express itself through the details of a beautiful piece.
