Sleepeezee joins as corporate member
We are delighted to welcome Sleepeezee, one of the best-known bed manufacturers in the world, as one of our newest corporate members.
Sleepeezee has been handcrafting pocket spring mattresses in the UK since 1924, using a combination of luxury materials, innovative designs, and traditional techniques to perfect the formula of a good night’s sleep.
Based in Rochester, Kent, its 300-strong team of expert craftspeople diligently check every detail of each mattress for consistency and quality to ensure customers can be confident that the bed they are investing in will provide them with the best night’s sleep possible. Sleepeezee has also been a Royal Warrant holder for over 30 years, demonstrating its outstanding quality and service.
Steve Warren, managing director at Sleepeezee, said: “Sleepeezee is thrilled to join The Furniture Makers’ Company as a corporate member. With a century-long tradition of crafting beds and mattresses by hand, we bring extensive expertise to the furniture industry and take immense pride in our manufacturing process.
“We are proud to support the industry’s charity and look forward to participating in various events to raise awareness amongst our colleagues and, in particular, to develop a younger generation who can progress in this wonderful industry.”
Sleepeezee was formally welcomed as a corporate member at an admission ceremony in December 2023 at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London. David Miller, commercial director; David Morris, purchasing director; and Paul Thomas, manufacturing manager, were admitted as corporate liverymen and personally welcomed by the Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company.
Corporate membership provides opportunities for leading businesses from the trade to support the Company’s charitable activities, get involved with civic events and network with other members.
Amanda Waring, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We are pleased to welcome such a well-known and quality brand as Sleepeezee as a corporate member – the company epitomises the best of UK manufacturing as well as having a long heritage supporting worthy causes. It is vital that we continue to bring together the leading lights with the furniture and furnishings industry, not only to share their expertise and network, but also to demonstrate their commitment to giving back to the sector by supporting our charitable endeavours.”
