Engagement and workplace culture to be topics of new webinar
The third episode in The Furniture Makers’ Company’s series of webinars focused on the theme of ‘Building back better’ will explore strategies and tactics for stewarding employees for the purpose of developing your business and retaining staff.
The webinar, ‘More than just salaries – nurturing talent and fostering a positive culture’, is taking place on 17 February from 11:00am – 12:00pm via Zoom.
The webinar comes after recent research revealed that 1 in 4 UK employees intend on leaving their current job in the next six months, citing one of the reasons as burnout from an increase in working hours during the pandemic. Keeping quality staff is paramount to any business and with ‘the great resignation’ in effect, this webinar will explore what companies need to do to create a positive and supportive culture that employees value.
An expert panel of speakers, made up of senior leaders from across the domestic and contract furnishing industry will join host Peter Holland, principal at Linear Structure, to discuss the internal culture at their business.
The panellists are:
– Caroline Gascoigne, national qualifications manager at DFS
– Alistair Gough, CEO at Ocee International
– Jasper Heinrich, operations director at TMJ Interiors
The topics being discussed will be:
– How do you create an organisation that staff don’t want to leave?
– What does internal culture look like to retain staff?
– What does an effective onboarding/induction look like?
Peter Holland said: “This will be a fascinating discussion with three top professionals in the industry. When it comes to choosing panellists, we make sure to draw together experienced leaders working in different sectors from the wider furnishing industry so that we can maximise the shared learning opportunities for attendees who will hear multiple approaches and viewpoints.”
