Blum embraces the Step 2 It campaign
Blum, established in Austria in 1952, is one of the foremost furniture fittings companies in the world. With a presence in 120 countries, and a workforce of over 8,300 worldwide, the company has established a tradition of supporting furniture companies and other charities.
Blum manufactures fittings, predominantly for the kitchen, but expanding rapidly into all areas of the home, and workplace. The fittings range from a humble hinge, although with 58 components it is hardly humble, to three different drawerbox systems, a whole family of lift systems for wall units, and a thriving services department. The company focuses on space-saving solutions, combined with ergonomic, design and, of course, functional movement.
A spokesperson from Blum said: “The Furniture Makers’ Company has been a key partner of Blum’s for many years. So naturally we are delighted to be extending that support to their Step2It campaign in this very difficult economic situation we all find ourselves in. We recognise the great welfare support system they have in place, to award a record number of grants to people who are struggling financially due to the pandemic and are pleased to continue to help our industry in whatever way we can.
“As with previous years, Blum will be sending a team to the Big Shots (clay pigeon shooting) event in Middlesex (14 July 2021) and hoping to improve on our success rate! But of course, the real reason we are going is to support this excellent fund-raising event.
“Blum are also in the process of planning a specific Step 2 It fundraising event, which we hope will raise even more funds to contribute towards this essential cause.”
