The aim was to create a chair that had the sense of stability that you get from a solid wood chair, coupled with the ergonomics, comfort and lightness gained from a formed ply chair. Once this task was set out the design details and language gradually informed itself, the main detail being the back rest, designed to give comfort and support where needed, creating a natural elegance. The design also lends itself to being simple to produce and sturdy to last.
